I think I look alright with clothes on, but without it's a different story.
I'm now 183 lbs... lost 13 lbs... another 15 lbs to go. When I reach my goal (in Oct) I will be able to stand naked in front of this mirrow and say "Yes, I recognise him, it's the real me."

Hi there! Long time no chat. So, did you intend to go vegetarian or did it just happen (or did it happen a long time ago and I didn't realize it)? I've been considering cutting back (or out) the meat in my diet. I was just wondering how the change affected you and how you feel on a daily basis. Was it hard to adjust?

I've been a vegetarian for a while now, haha :)
in fact I became a vegetarian as a teenager, 40 years ago.
If I remember right... I found it easy to adjust, (accept for the smell of bacon which I found tempting for several years)
When I changed, I was already eating very little meat ie. chicken on Sundays, the odd pork chop in the week and spam. But the main reason I found it easy is that I hated the thought of animals being slaughtered.

Wow. I wouldn't have recognized you. That's impressive.
It must be weird for your wife !

I don't know how you function on so few calories !!! Is there an age factor with calories? ( don't know how old you are but over 50, yes ? )

Hahaha your comment made me laugh... yes, my wife has noticed but hopefully it's not to weird for her, we haven't gone into the 'Twin Peaks' zone (thinking of that weird tv show that I know you like)

It is great how I don't feel deprived at all, I'm feeling great. I think age does come into it, you need more calories when young... I'm now 56, God help me!

Have you tried following the calorie, carb, fat, and protein goals that 'Sparkpeople' suggest? You might find that it is more satisfying than you expect.

I haven't because I am away on vacation and then we move and things will be crazy.
But once school has started and we are settled in our new city, I might very well try it !
Love sparkpeople !!!
