Wales suffered very bad losses of men during WW1. After the war the League of Nations was started to try to avoid future conflicts. Woodrow Wilson was involved but the US Congress couldn't agree and didn't join.
In 1923 at a meeting in Aberystwyth in Wales, women supporting the idea of the League of Nations met. They decided to do something about it

It's a great story but nothing was said about it over my whole time in school. It seemed to get forgotten until recently. Great shame as it was a fantastic effort! Well done the museum in Kansas!
