Alas, poor Bike!

I have a cheap bike and I don't take very good care of it, ergo it is not in great shape. Actually, that's an understatement. a neat trick i've found is to use the blown tubes to line the inside of the tire (or rim). just cut out the valve stem...do this enough times and you stop having to inflate them.

also: have some vague memories about how well taken care-of your last car was. maybe should preemptively form a support group for it :)

Do you split the old tube to wrap it around the new one or just lay it flat around the rim? (or is there another way to do it so the valve stem for the new tube is accessible?)
Also given that car was as old I was and I only had two maintenance related problems while I drove it, I think my record is pretty clean!
