One of my favorite things about my neighborhood is there always seems to be music around. Things fall apart...
The centre cannot hold...or at least the soles of my shoes cannot. I set out one morning in one of my few pair of nice shoes, got about a block away from home, and had the soles of both shoes fall right off! Sherlock Holmes: Office style
Actually, it's more "Watson: Office" style since I observed the phenomena but can't figure out what they mean. Namely, there was a trail of evenly spaced light-tan thin fluid blots starting at the elevator in my building and running down the entire length of the hall an into another (attached) building. Lies. All lies. With a crackle and pop (and a slight burning smell) the terribly ancient and venerable air conditioner gave up the ghost today. Both human and feline residents were mightily distressed and spent the afternoon and evening prostrate in front of fans. Cute...yet disgusting
There was a little hole in the husk of my corn today. And it continued all the way down the husks to the cob, where a little corn worm had chewed out a nest in the kernels. Which the little worm was sitting in, probably wondering why it had gotten so cold in the last week. -

I had a chance to see King Lear with Derek Jacobi in the title role when it was broadcast live from the Donmar a while ago. It was excellent in really every way. A while ago, I was considering buying a Lego model Taj Mahal, but I was worried that it too was pricey and impractical.
