A little different today

You may have already seen these on my site recently, but I thought I'd post them here anyway.  These were small watercolors done for Fashion illustration.  The assignment was to redesign the three face cards (King, Queen, and Jack) however you wanted.  I chose to have them as bums.  Really tried to push the attitude and props of each individual

You manage to make watercolor so creamy looking, i'm blown away. Great characters, i'm afraid i'm going to look like the queen in a couple of months.

These have an almost sculptural aspect to them... very nicely done. I wish the Jack had some sort of specific personality though... apart from the king and queen. I love their eyes, especially on the queen!

with the jack, I was basically going for a sort of fledgling bum. someone who's completely new to that world, possibly a failed business man, and is still clutching on to the last remnants of his old life, whereas the king character is completely content with where he is.
