So. The Oscars.

What I Loved:1. The Fashion! Everyone looked so good! The men looked great, and I didn't really see any gowns that made me cringe. Although a lot of the dresses look better on camera than in pictures. Some of the colors wash out, and you can't see how the fabric moved ( Read more... )

You liked that orange monstrosity? Ugh. She would have looked so much better if it had been more yellow-ish-gold.

I don't like the dress as much as I like the color. It was very striking on camera.

Plus, Michelle and Heath get bonus points for being a cute couple.

The colour was very striking, but it didn't suit her. Though I did like her makeup quite a bit. (Not as much as Steve Carrell's though)

BTW, what the hell was Charlize Theron wearing? I think that bow was trying to eat her shoulder.

(WHEEE! Daily Show icons!)

I HATED Charlize's dresses from both the Golden Globes AND the Oscars! She used to dress so well....

Maybe she thinks haute couture is easy to translate from runway to red carpet. How unfortunate.

Ooh, Meghan and I loved Michelle's makeup too!

P.S. Your icon is funneh. What is it from?

I mos def agree with the critics who said that the best dressed was Kiera Knightly. I don't believe I have ever seen her look that gorgeous. I would have liked to see her hair a different color but still she was amazingly beautiful.

As for the Michelle Williams debate, I liked the color and the dress once I got used to it but I didn't like the lipstick. It needed more of a subtle tone with such a striking dress.

I HATED Charlize's little puffball on her shoulder. It was gross.

BTW, while I would've liked to see Felicity win, I think that Reese is a really good actress and deserves thee respect. That is my two cents.

P.S. Brokeback sucked. And I think it's complete bullshit that people are saying the only reason it didn't win was because it's gay themed. I think that's a cop out bullshit reason. It wasn't that great of a movie over all.

P.P.S. Ali loves the cock.

I don't think Crash won just because the Academy didn't want to give a gay themed movie Best Picture. I do, however, think that that may be part of it. There are a lot of things that go into the voting process other than voting on which film is, in one's opinion, best. It's fairly well known that lobbying and politics do play a part.

I guess a lot of it is opinion, though. I mean, I really liked Brokeback Mountain. And not just because it's gay or whatever. I'm sick of people saying that. I thought it was very well done.

yes brandon, i do love teh cock

and yes, charlize theron's dress was teh suck

but....i disagree on Keira Knightly, her hair was a horrible color, and i didnt like her dress...and i dont mind standing alone on that one...

in regards to lizzies comment, i did think Brokeback was well done, however, i think Goodnight and Good luck should have won...i didnt see capote or crash, but goodnight and good luck actually evoked some feeling out of me, and it was "in your face" w/o being over the top...it was very smart and well done, and i am in love with david strathairn(sp?) b/c of it :)

p.s. i still really really really hate Michelle Williams and her "Daffodil" colored dress (which is a terrible thing to say about daffodils, i'll have you know) and even if she looked gorgeous, i would never admit to it b/c i am blinded by loathing and detestment......and by the light.

Hee! Ali you are my hero. Did you know?

Yeah, I'm kinda mad at myself because I saw every Best Picture nominee EXCEPT "Good Night and Good Luck," and I wish I had so that I would have been able to compare all the films.

C'est la vie.
