This week will be my last week of student teaching. Wednesday is Earthday and I am planning 10 hours total of reading and writing around environmental issues. Tomorrow is about Global Waring. The 3rd graders are also going to take a carbon footprint quiz. This should be fun ( Read more... )

check out christian healthcare ministries (http://www.chministries.org/) for "insurance". it is technically not insurance but more or less operates the same way... except that your money goes to help other christians' medical bills, not to board members and share holders. i just signed up, i think my sister--who you'll be working with-ish--was on it for a while. you can ask her what she thought of it.

props for the earth day activities. hopefully you are able to get out and enjoy the day, not just teach.

Thanks for the alternative insurance info, Jeremy. I have heard about such things but wouldn't have known where to begin looking for such.

Ya, I have thought about getting health insurance, but can't yet... Not sure I ever can. But I found out about something that could potentially help me if I am in a rut, but it would require going to iowa city.
I might check out this thing jermy is talking about. :)
