So in procrastination of grading those final exams, I finished all my Christmas gifts for my family (I decided I would only give cards to friends--and Neal now gets to count as family, cool huh?). but not including my time spent on crafty labors (if time is money, which I don't really believe it is) totally agree (: some of my best and most creative moments are when I AM doing something fun and creative and money never crosses my mind - especially when I'm making it for someone else. So much joy.

And well as you have put here, plain boxes are nice because it encourages re-use. I also use boxes of other things, but now that I see your idea I can turn them inside out! I use old newspapers instead of tissue, or as a wrapping as well.

I have tons of old old old old OLD cards so I basically take off the message and reuse the picture framed in an interesting way for a new card. (:

Our family has been doing like.. gift exchanges (1 per person) for the last few years, so the person gets what they really want instead of something that will just take up space or get thrown out right away and we reduce on "guilt" presents too (like everyone has to get a present from everybody).

Thrift shopping = fun + win.
