Out on Business

I've never really been on a business trip, unless you count flying home to Chicago from Albuquerque to do fundraising for my school at my home church. Well, the school paid for part of the flight. Perhaps it was partly a business trip.

I think I know the feeling... sorta.

However, I'm not sure my idea of "home" even exists anymore. A lot as changed since I lived with my family... They've grown up, they've changed... the town has changed... the friends I associate with the town have moved... So even when I'm in my parents house, I still don't feel completely comfortable.

Dear Laura,

I very much connect with this, as someone who's been traveling for work for almost 2 years, and living in my parent's house - feeling like I was camping out rather than "coming home" each time.

God will bring you opportunities to grow roots, when the time is right. I'm so overwhelmed by the unknown blessings that are coming to me as I sit in this house that will soon be my home.

For the last two years though, I had to make God and friends and the family that I saw my rocks. It helped force me to see how much strength has been built in my life, even without literal solid ground of my own.

Neil is a root that will bring even more branches...on that note...when do we get to meet him? ;)

You can meet Neal at the wedding, certainly. June 19! Save the date, Leen!
