Prove me wrong:

I dont think two people can have coexisting realities.

I suppose that there is some sort of societal code everywhere you go that people who are of sane mental health abide by, but beyond these communal basics, everyone is forced to define their own intricate realities based on their observations, experiences, and general thought processes.  ( Read more... )

The whole point to this is... how do you take your reality and make it someone elses? It is impossible. Realities are constantly changing and being influenced. No two realities can coexist without one influencing or changing the other, or one simply being forced out. To have them both exist in one person would cause too much conflict. Therefore, to force one's reality upon another is to compromise the other's sense of identity. People can coexist (and they do) mainly because their realities are similar due to the basic societal and educational structures of reality. People are even able to understand other realities to some extent, but no two complete realities can exist peacefully. One will soon consume the other, or a disorder will develop. This is the problem with a lot of religions as well. They try to force their realities on others, surpress the question "why?". They allow people who embrace it to escape from their own realities which they have created and they despise. I suppose that is why Marx said that religion ( ... )

reality reality. i don't think reality is as relative as you seem to think it is. there's reality and then my perception of it, which is incomplete and hazy. you've done some dangerous shit- you say you don't think sometimes in those situations. you fail to recognize the reality that those situations are dangerous. or if you do recognize the reality of danger in those situations, you fail to recognize the reality of your own value, and don't see yourself as something worth protecting. but you are valuable, and if you can't see that you're in just as much denial as she is. and that's okay, because you can recognize your own denial, and you can heal it, but you cannot MAKE her recognize YOUR reality or the REAL reality of her denial, and you cannot heal her.
