Not all love is the same; I don't think there's a checklist. :> No one else can tell you, and not to be trite and philosophical but "you'll know." I don't know if I believe in "true love" but love is love and I don't think you should worry about how strong it is or if it's more real than whatever else.
But, if you want something more concrete, my opinion is that it's love when you're willing to make major sacrifices and compromises, or set aside other things for that person. Not out of lust, obsession, desperation or dependency, but the desire to do so. I think it's also when more wordly things like money and possessions matter less. Would you give him one of your favorite things? That doesn't mean you can't ever keep things to/for yourself, just that you've reached actual comfort in sharing. That's what I think. :>
