I don't think you ever really get over your first love, and I don't think you are supposed to. Part of it is that it's just hard to let go of someone who was such a milestone. I can't write like I used to be able to, it's just not as good. It's been years since I've written anything that I feel is worthwhile and I don't quite understand it.
