Oh my god, I'm laughing and also feeling a bit guilty about having made you skip to the end! The end of 10yrs is why I still haven't re-read it after fifteen years... Everything is awful and then they die! And in unsatisfactory ways too! I remember being very angry at Athos who went and died of grief of all things (especially as I had never particularly liked his boring son). D'Artagnan at least died on the battlefield, but why on earth couldn't they have all gone off with a bang, together until the end

No, I'm glad you warned me and I read the ending! Arriving there on my own would have been even more devastating. (Is the rest of 10Yrs worth reading? I mean, is it fun and swashbuckley or is it all angsty and light on bromance and better skipped

(and I know the book doesn't say, but I'm convinced the statue was of a demigod of a young man. I think Athos is bi, but overall he really does prefer men)
Well, it's been ages since I've read 10yrs, and I basically remember that it was long and there was a lot of court intrigue. I may have been so traumatised by the ending that I can't remember much else about the book
