So the real REAL assignments will be out later today! Traditionally we have a post where people can leave links to their "Dear Yuletide Writer" posts. And this is it for this year!
But first, some reminders (totally stolen from last year's and the year before's and the year before's etc):
1) Please do not (try to) make contact with your Writer or recipient. This includes asking for or making anonymous comments in yours or their LJs! If you have any questions for your recipient, please email the yule mods at yuletide@yuletidetreasure.org and they will act as go-betweens. (If you are one of the lucky people who actually have Elyn or astolat as your recipient, you can always come to me).
2) If you like, write a "Dear Yuletide Writer" letter in your LJ or elswhere! If you have an LJ and included your LJ username in your sign-up, your Writer will probably be checking you out over the next few days, so now's the time to add in details you forgot, clarify your request, or maybe give some pointers on what you like and what you really hope not to see. But Writers, please don't jump in and friend your recipient today - it might be a bit of a giveaway ;)
If you don't have an LJ, or you didn't mention your LJ in the signup, you can comment here with the name you signed up under in the comment subject line and either leave your "Dear Writer" letter in the comment, or leave a link to your letter that you posted elsewhere. See
here for examples of past "Dear Writer" letters if you can't think of what you might want to say.
3) Remember, the story you will write has a minimum word-count requirement of 1,000 words. More is fine, but it must meet the minimum count or our upload function will reject the file.
4) Here's the
Upload Form (or at least where it will be when we turn it on). Do check out the formatting tips in
Upload Help first, and PLEASE preview your story to check that any smartquotes have been removed and accented characters look like they should, because once you upload, no change is possible without crying and prostrating before the poor overworked yule mods - or at least asking nicely ;)
5) Finally, and most importantly - HAVE FUN!
