For any and all latecomers or those who didn't see my announcement, this is lintwhite and I have obviously moved journals. You can't see it because it's the Internet but I'm waving ♥

All right, so, I'm not sure if I mentioned it on lintwhite or if I've only mentioned it on Plurk but I got a job at Target. ( WATCH ME TALK ABOUT IT AT LENGTH. )

I think it was mostly a nostalgia thing - I hadn't watched in a theater since, like...it came out in the early 90s. And thank you - I hope things will get better :(

Really? Neato burrito! Do you have Rikai-chan (or Rikai-kun if you're a Chrome user)? It can really help with reading kanji you're not familiar with.

It's a Firefox add-on! It saves me so much time it's unreal. I would be lost without it.

I feel like I'm turning into one of those people but man, I'm telling you, everyone was so unprofessional and slow.

Nah, Walmart is just that way. I have known great and many friends who quit Walmart just for the principle alone. They are notoriously unprofessional and it feels like their store policy is pretty much I DON'T GIVE A FUCK lol.

Also, I rock Big Lots before either one but whatever, Target is cool too.

Oh, well, that makes me feel less snobby. There's just a vibe I get from it now that makes me not want to shop there but I am poor and they have decently priced groceries.

I've worked retail a few times (and hotels, which are a different thing but also contain a lot of running and standing), and every time I think about it I feel phantom pain in my feet and lower back. You have my deepest sympathies.

I'm glad you found a job, though, since you wanted one, and I hope they pay you properly as they said they would.

*hugs*

Really? I've been told it isn't permanent but even after a year, I could still feel the effects of it :( I guess it's just a thing that comes with working in retail.

If it helps, I worked like 24 hours total at a deli for like 9 an hour and I made like 400 from that lone paycheck lololololol.

I remember it showed up 1-2 years late, it just ~appeared~.

Wow, really? Daaaamn. I totaled it up and before they take some out, it'll be about maybe $150? Something close to that? My future checks will be a lot better since I came on at the end of the pay period.
