I want to sign up because I like the idea, and have been thinking about it a lot but an awfully large amount of the suggestions they make don't apply to me...
I think your signing up will help the cause in terms of 'THIS many people care about climate change' even if you don't manage the 10%, and especially if you don't manage the 10% because you're not emitting that much carbon in the first place ;)
Seconded - this is not a petition, it's a *pledge* and while I fully agree with the aims of this thing, I really can't commit to a pledge of this sort of magnitude.
In general, cutting 10% of emissions, given how I've done most of the easy stuff already (like using energy saving lightbulbs, having no car etc) would mean for me as a big a lifestyle change as going vegan. Which I'd really not be happy to pledge to do, really.
Having said that, given I've flown a really large number of times this year, it'd be probably really easy for me to cut 10% in 2010 just by flying less, which is almost certain to happen anyway. Yes, this would cut lots of emissions, but I feel is against the spirit of a whole lifestyle change which the pledge is supposed to be about.
