God, I love this so much. This is perfect. Absolutely perfect. The way they talk, and don't talk, and John's shifting responses to a situation that could only really happen with Sherlock - it's all spot on. I love your Sherlock, too - he's obviously awkward and inexperienced but he's also his delightfully perceptive self, even if this is obviously not his domain. He sometimes gets portrayed as someone who has no clue whatsoever about sex and things, but that doesn't ring true to me, because he's extremely socially observant, even if he doesn't translate his observations to practice. So this feels so much more in character for him. I also love the slow progression that they go through and the references to canon.
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. I admit, I read almost no fic within the fandom, so I have no idea how Sherlock is generally portrayed in fic, but completely agree with your assessment of him here based on the show. Thanks again!
I think ... this is *the* best John/Sherlock story I have EVER read. The premise, the dialog, the characters, the writing ... I'm ... I'm speechless. (*sits slack-jawed and looking pleasantly dazed*)
Really super fic. I especially like that they are both a bit uncomfortable with admitting to the situation, and that they don't just fall into bed with each other, as if by re-naming their relationship it changes both of their sexual orientations. It's certainly a complicated thing, and they have no patterns to go by. But you've shown how there is so much love and devotion there, on both sides.
Thank you! It was important to me not to throw them right into bed together (and by bed, I mean 'bed', as clearly they did end up literally in bed, but whatever) so I'm very glad to hear that you liked that. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. :D ,
