Somewhat cynical conclusion I've reached:

7 weeks at Reed has taught me more, opened my mind more, and helped me grow as a person infinitely more then 10,000 years of Agoura High ever could.

It's amazing how I can be completely dreading something, yet wishing the change would finally happen. 40 more days.

In case you didn't know ...

I will be going to REED COLLEGE next year.

That is all.

So yea financial aid came in ... I can afford (more or less) to do Oxy or Reed.

Occidental - Close, good, more fun oriented, more normal.

Reed - Farther away (a plus?), excellent, more academic oriented, quirky.

Reed was my dream for a year, but now that I was in a "didn't get in mindset" I dunno how I feel anymore.

Thoughts? Opinions? Advice?

As I left campus on my bday, Bunny and I were chatting and I mentioned my 18 years of age and she responded with a very prophetic, somewhat reflective statement:

"18 years young, to have your whole life ahead of you, how great!"

I was watching an interview with Hillary Clinton in which she was asked her view on gay rights/same-sex marriage. She rambled about equality and then dedicated herself to civil-unions, but not marriage. It suddenly occurred to me that ... it's pretty hypocritical to support equal rights for gays/lesbians ... but only to a point.

Oh, politics.  

I don't mind that the world brings all it's problem to my doorstep. On the contrary, it's self-gratifying knowing people value my trust and my advice ( Read more... )
