it doesn't occur that there is a whole process attached to any given material; most people will naturally only see the material itself. subsidized goods and production are invisible, and "bad" can only be conceived in the context of one's self. but even then, how many people read the ingredients on what they consume. it's quite a discongruity that we have labels on tobacco and alcohol, but what of a can of soup that provides 70% of our daily RDA for sodium, or a bottle of soda that has over 100% of the sugar? and why not another label for the toll on the environment and human life? people are much more nihilistic than they believe themselves to be

processed food is the devil. sometimes i eat it for convenience. sometimes for taste. but i always feel like shit afterwards.
