If you were Peter Jackson (Director: LOTR Series), I think you would be really proud of your achievements. Imagine trying to organise such huge fight scenes (even if certain aspects are CGI). All three movies have been mammoth undertakings (hence the yearly wait between each movie). As far as he's concerned, he's probably glad that the movies have been devoured so well

Wooo, okay baby, sorry... didn't mean to get anyone angry... I could only hear Lord of the Rings in the Back ground (I was focused on someone I deemed much more important than a second LOTR experience, I don't know if you should be flattered sexy :P) and as I said to you last night I could only hear the soundtrack

please understand that I was insulting no ones credibility (i love taking things out of context)

Kelly’s inane giggles
I'm 90% positive she was laughing because she understood the humour, having read the book and having a feel for the characters. Yet you sit here calling it inane simply because you do not share the same love of the story. Hmmmm...
GAH! wasn't insulting kelly... i wouldn't insult kelly! we were high on sugar... we were both being stupid and giggling... both making orc noises at the screen and BOTH getting ugly stare from other people in the insy winsy cinema we were shoved in!
My two cents... heh hehlimegreen_slothSeptember 1 2003, 09:14:06 UTC
In terms of a stand-alone movie, I don't think LotR is at all overrated; indeed it is quite an achievement. But in terms of doing justice to the books, yes it is overrated but it was always going to be. The depth of the world created simply cannot be recaptured by a movie that - although a huge one - does have a budget and that also needs to be appealing and even understandable to a mass audience. For this reason we find some simple, typical plot lines *cough*Arwen*cough* enhanced, while other deeper ones that take more explaining are glossed over and simplified or ignored completely. That said, most readers of the book were aware of this of the beginning and are fairly forgiving of PJ, just because he finally brought their beloved tale to life. It is a tragedy that some simply cannot be included, but most of us are happy to take what we can get. However, for some of us there are some changes that are close to unforgivable, especially in The Two Towers. I’m not going to go into them except to say MASSIVE PLOT DEVIATION! CHARACTER
