Then take some studio art classes instead of convincing yourself that you have some obligation to study "serious" classes.

I'm not going to be an art major, you know.

And art is more work than any of the classes I'm taking right now, believe me.

I'm not going to be a major in most of the things I'm taking. I don't know how it works at Yale, but I get the feeling you can do a little of what you want.

That's what summer is for I guess.

I'm not sure what it's like at Yale, but it's remarkably easy to take a semester off here at Beloit. I know a whole bunch of people who are doing it/have done it. One of my friends (a junior) took this semester off to go volunteer down in New Orleans. He visited last week and had amazing experiences to share. Another one is leaving for next year to work on a "bio-dynamic" farm in California, whatever that means.

So how are you? It's been a while eh?

I'm sick and stressed. But not so stressed where I'm doing anything near taking a semester off. That's a bigger deal here really.... I only know one person doing that and it's because he was seriously depressed.

Well I mean besides the sick and stressed bit, I got that quite nicely from your original entry. When do you get out of school for the summer? No one seems to want to tell me when they get out.
