Just found another strange something in my neck (I've had a lump on the back of my neck near the spine for more than a decade. It's never hurt and hasn't grown or shrunk in size so I've never had it looked at.) I had my hand on my neck just now (it's a nervous habit when I'm concentrating) and felt pain near my trachea. Maybe there is something on your thyroid. That is not so uncommon.

Hmmm. I hadn't thought about the thyroid. I went immediately to worrying about my throat and then my voice. You could be right though.
