Summary: Jinki, Jonghyun, Kibum and Taemin are almost ready to debut as a group, under one of the biggest entertainments in Korea, but before they can, their manager makes an announcement, that changes everything.
A/N: Wow, chapter two already! xD We had a lot of fun writing this chapter ~ Sorry in advance for all the grammatical errors. Too lazy to correct them -.- Please enjoy!
Chapter 01
On the way back to the dorm, Taemin had so many things going on in his head. The group having their debut, their new member Minho and he promissing him to learn dancing. Why did he do that? What if he couldn't hold that promise? Before Taemin and Jinki shared a room, and Jonghyun and Kibum shared a room. Minho was going to move in to Taemin and Jinkis room now.
When they arrived at the dorm, Kibum quickly walked into his room, Jongyun right behind him. Jinki showed Minho where he was supposed to sleep, but Minho had to leave again, 'cause he had to go get the rest of his stuff. Jinki had noticed that Taemin wasn't acting normal.
"What's going on Taemin, you're spacing out!" Jinki said.
"What? Oh, nothing, I'm just tired from practicing all day. I think I'm going to sleep. See you tomorrow." Taemin replied, before Jinki could say anything else. Taemin thought that going to sleep would keep him from thinking about Minho all the time, but it just got worse. Why was he thinking about him all the time? He couldn't understand it. It took many hours before he got to sleep, and he knew that he was going to be really tired tomorrow.
The next morning Taemin was so tired, as he had predicted. He walked to the kitchen, and grabbed something from the refrigiator. When he turned around, he saw Minho standing in the doorway, and dropped the glass of milk he had just made, and the glass, of course, broke. Minho rushed over to him, asking
"Did you get hurt, did the shards hit you?"
Taemin who hadn't noticed that his shirt was all soaked in milk, just answered
"Uhm, n-nothing happened, I'm alright.."
"But...", but Minho was interrupted by Kibum, who had just entered the kitchen and shouted
"TAEMIN! What's happened to you? You're all wet! What did you do to my Taeminnie?" he said pointing to Minho.
"M-me? I didn't do anything!" he said back to Kibum, who wouldn't believe him and just snapped
"Yeah right! Are you alright Taeminnie?" What did he do to you?"
"Hyung, it's okay, he really didn't do anything, it was just me being all clumsy..." Taemin said in a low voice, but Kibum wouldn't listen.
"Come on Taemin, let's get you a new shirt to put on..." Kibum said, and when thay left the room, he sent Minho a 'I'm-going-to-kill-you' glance.
Minho stayed in the kitchen, surprised by the whole situation, thinking 'What's wrong with him?'.
A little later that day, Minho and Taemin left before the others, so Taemin could give Minho his first private lesson. When Kibum heard about this, he wasn't happy, but he did agree that Minho needed the extra practice, so he just let it go.
On their way in the car, they didn't say anything to eachother. It wasn't before they finally arrived at the dance studio, that Taemin broke the silence by saying
"Uhm, I'm sorry about, what happened this morning."
"Don't worry about it, it's okay. But what's... what was his name, Kibum? What's his problem anyways?" Minho said looking confused.
"Oh, he has always been like that, I guess he's a bit overprotective. He's like, I don't know, our mom? I know it sounds really stupid, but it's actually nice, to have someone to take care of us." Taemin said, while smiling about the thought of it.
"Well, I don't think he likes me" Minho then said, looking down.
"No I don't think that's it" Taemin said "It's just that Kibum was the one, who was probably the most excited about our debut. He has been working so hard to improve his skills, and for the group as well, so I think he's just a bit annoyed"
Taemin looked at Minho, waiting for him to say something, but the only thing he saw was an unhappy face.
"Uh, let's get started Mi.. Minho-hyung" Taemin said, a little embarrased. Minho was surprised to hear Taemin call him hyung, and he replied
"Yeah, uhm.. let's get started. And by the way, just call me Minho" he said with smile. Taemin could feel the blood rush to his cheeks, so he looked away and went to turn on the music.
After they've gone through the dance routine for one of their songs a few times, Taemin could see that Minho was progressing slowly.
"Minho, don't think too much about, what you're doing. You have to feel the music, the rhythm and just let your body go with the flow." Taemin said.
"Okay, then let's try it again" Minho said. Taemin could see that it already helped Minho a lot.
While they went through the dance again, the other members arrived.
"Oh, looking good Minho" Jonghyun said, trying to drown the music. Both Taemin and Minho stopped dancing and turned around.
"Thank you hyung" Minho said, smiling. Even Kibum thought that Minho had improved, but just said
"Well, you still have a long way to go." Kibum then walked towards Minho and whispered to him
"Can I have a word with you?"
Minho, who was confused, that Kibum actually wanted to talk to him, just nodded and said in a nervous voice
"Uhm, s-sure..."
They went outside the room and Kibum looked at Minho in a threatening way.
"I-I'm sorry about what happened this morning, but..." Minho started, but he was cut off in an instance.
"Listen, that's not what I was going to talk about, but now that you bring it up, if you ever, and I mean ever do anything to Taemin, I'm not gonna forgive you" Kibum said, not sounding happy.
"What do you mean? I didn't do.." Minho said, trying to protect himself, but was again cut off
"I better say this now. I've worked so hard to achieve this, and I won't let you get in my way. So you better step up your game, and stop fooling around with Taemin, or just leave already."
Before Minho had a chance to say anything, Kibum made his way back to the dance studio, leaving an overwhelmed Minho behind.
The rest of the practice, Minho tried to do his best, but he screwed up all the time, thinking about what Kibum had said to him earlier.
"Hey Minho, what's wrong? You keep messing up" Jinki said in a concerned tone.
Minho had to think twice before answering, as he could feel Kibum's eyes on him.
"Nothing hyung, I'm just tired" he replied.
"Tired won't cut it at this point" Kibum said.
"Well, I'm actually kinda tired too, and it's late" Jonghyun said "Maybe we should call it a day?"
The other members agreed, and Minho was thankful towards Jonghyun.
"Just go ahead guys, I think I'll show, uhm ... Minho where the bathroom is!" Taemin said, regretting it the second he let it out. Surprisingly the other members didn't mind, and just left. Taemin then turned to face Minho.
"The bathroom? Are you serious?" Minho said, not hiding his laughter. Taemin slapped Minho's arm lightly and his laughter stopped. They both looked into eachother's eyes, but Taemin quickly looked away as his face again turned red.
"Uhm, a-actually, it was just an excuse to get them to leave" he said shyly.
Minho decided to try and change the mood, so he jokingly said
"Why? You want to kiss me or something?"
Taemin couldn't believe, what he just heard, so his face turned even more red. Minho thought he should tease Taemin a little to ease up the tension and said
"What? Was that seriously what you wanted to?"
"N-no!!! Of course not" Taemin replied "I was just... you know, before. You kept messing up, and you didn't before the others came. D-did something happen between you and Kibum?"
Minho thought about whether he should tell Taemin about the confrontation, but decided not to make him worry.
"No, nothing happened. I guess I was just nervous about the others being here."
Taemin looked at Minho, trying to figure out if he was telling the truth or not.
"Okay, I see.. Well, good nothing happened."
"Yeah good... Well, shall we go?" Minho asked. Taemin nodded, and they went to the car, where the others were waiting.
After driving a while in silence, except for Jonghyun and Kibum mumbling about something in the back, Jinki asked
"So, how about chicken for dinner?"
"Argh, not again! We already had it five times last week." Kibum snapped.
"Really?!" Jinki said "Only five times?". Jonghyun chuckled, and Jinki thought to himself 'I'll have to make up for it this week'. Minho looked at Taemin, in a wondering way.
"He's kinda obsessed with chicken, but don't worry, you'll get used to it. We did." Taemin said as an answer to Minho's expression.
When they finally arrived at their dorm Jonghyun and Kibum quickly rushed to their room. They closed the door after them, but shortly after Jonghyun stuck his head out, smirking and said
"Uhm guys, we're pretty tired, so we would apprciate it, if you didn't interrupt us. I think we're going straight to bed."
Jinki looked up from the floor, after tripping over thin air and just said
"Sure, why would we want to interrupt you anyways?"
Jonghyun face-palmed at Jinki falling, before saying
"Well, I just wanted to make sure you didn't interrupt. You know how cranky Kibum gets, when he's not getting his beauty sleep." He then went back inside the room, closing the door again.
"Minho, you can use the bathroom first" Taemin then said "We'll just go to our room"
"Okay thanks" Minho replied, and went to the bathroom. As he stood in front of the mirror, he thought about all the things, that had been going on the past two days. He still wasn't quite used to it all, and he didn't feel like a member of the group yet either. The only positive thing was meeting Taemin. He made it all easier for him, being so nice and helpful. Minho then looked into the mirror, only to realize that his face had turned red.
"What's going on?" Minho asked his reflection "Why are you blushing, thinking about another guy?"
He was realizing, that it was kinda stupid, talking to his own reflection, so he finished up, and went to the living room. As he stood there, he tried to remember, which door was to his room. Was it left or right? He scratched his head thinking 'I'm pretty sure it was right', so he went to the door, placing his hand on the doorknob, and pushed the door open.
A few seconds later, he closed the door again, not believing, what he had just seen. What he saw was shocking, and totally unexpected. Never had he thought, he should see Jonghyun and Kibum, lying on the bed kissing passionately. Before Minho knew it, he heard the door open, and felt a hand grab his arm, pulling him into the room. It was Kibum.
"Tell me, did you see anything?" he asked, worry in his voice, not sounding like the usual diva he was. Minho was still in shock and unable to say anything. Jonghyun stood up from the bed and walked over to Minho. He waved his hand in front of his face.
"Minho, are you there?" Jonghyun said, and Minho shook his head, as if he tried to get out of the trance.
