Nothing like going out into a thunderstorm to check the reading on the water meter(because we're protesting the last two months water bills and I had to check it today before they would go further with our claim

Take a thin-bottomed drinking glass and hold it down into the water (with a parka over you so it doesn't fill with rain) and hold it against the meter-glass. Then you can read the meter without water in between you and the meter. Bring a flashlight.

I was able to bail enough to read the meter..you'r eway is pretty cool though! THanx. I',m glad i was able to bail enuf tho since i was able to actually see the water coming back in...we figure we're losing @ 1000 gallons a day to the leak. Of course its on our side of the line right before the meter hole, so the water is running into the meter and then going - where?? obviously somewhere. In the process of calling plumbing companies now to come check it out. I want to go through a different company than the one we used last year as i'm concerned that whatever they did to fix the last leak (he had a couple of mishaps trying to fix it) could have started this one.
Have you tried the ajc job site? I got some really good responses from it, and was only unemployed for two weeks :) Is there something specific you're looking for in a job? Because if you're willing to accept $9 or $10 an hour, there are lots of options out there! And it doesn't have to be your career, just what you do while you're looking for your perfect job :)
Thanks for the help - I have been going through AJC - that's where I 've always had the most luck. I can always go back to Bloomingdales, they'd be happy to have me back, but my honey doesn't want me to work so hard for so little. He wants me to get back into corporate (and so do I). I've noticed there are alot of jobs that can get me 9-10 an hour too - and if my luck keeps holding they'll be looking good mighty soon! Thanks for the warm thoughts.
