this is getting really old. it was getting really old ALREADY, and here's another sunrise. at least today I can sleep in... assuming I don't mystically awake around 11am and find myself locked in some endless loop.

sweet mother of crap. it's groundhog day.

that means you're supposed to go out and haul some poor, unsuspecting mammal out of its nice warm den to investigate its shadow-casting potential, right?

so if you do wake up at 11, at least you'll have a project!

I was more worried about the potential for a closed loop, like Bill Murray stumbled on in the movie "groundhog day" than I was looking forward to mammal molestation.

I woke up at 11, all right. then I told the day to screw itself and went back to sleep. it worked.

Set yourself a pattern, and turn off the damn cartoons about an hour before you want to go to sleep. You'll never sleep by the glow of the smart window. After all, it is your best friend.

I also recommend finding a German copy of Nitzche, and quick! I have a feeling you'll be getting into a duel with some Marxist swine, and you'll need all the zeitgeist you can muster.

Okay, I made that last part up to freak you out. Consider, though, that watching TV produces brain patterns very similar to sleep. This either means that you should watch a lot of TV under the theory that it's a simulation of sleep, OR that the idiot box is causing your brain to relax too often and it makes it difficult to shut it off and sleep. Remember jail? You have access to all sorts of books. Read something, dammit! And not by the glow of the TV screen!
