Today I went to the SPCA and adopted a 2-year-old female cat. She's already been declawed, which was important to me because Scathach has no front claws. She also has an RFID chip. I'm happy to report that the claw is back to normal. Because of having to grip the horns of the mechanical bull that was trying to throw me off the cliffs of the Himalayas, I wound up not being able to use my right hand very well. We arrived about 11 hours ago. The ride from the airport to dad's friend's house was an interesting adventure. I'm amazed we didn't trade a little paint with some of the other vehicles. Traffic is tight here, and lanes are optional ( Read more... )

Today I leave for India. I'll get there at 1:00 am local time on Tuesday, my b-day. Dad, F (brother-in-law) and I are motorcycling across the world's highest motorable roadway (over 18,000 ft). After much more debate than seems appropriate for purchasing a motorcycle, I am now the proud new owner of a Kawasaki Vulcan 500. Keep your fingers crossed that the bike is as sweet as these pictures!
