It's pretty great having official vacation days! I got a ride back to the Cities on Wednesday evening, then we headed to the farm on Thursday. It was really nice seeing all the cousins (and the baby!) and we did traditional things like play games and go to the gravel pit. So this past week was not the greatest. On Sunday, we got up late, since Anna hadn't gotten to the hotel until around 2am. This actually seemed to fit pretty well with what other people were doing -- dinner places tend not to open until 8 or 8:30pm, and people stay up late ( Read more... )

The best part about having a friend who you really get along with but who lives across the world is that when you meet them again, it feels like hardly any time has passed and it's wonderful.

The worst part is when the visit ends and you don't know how long it will be until you see them again, but it will surely be too long.
