Honestly, I love this kind of thing! I almost regret not having a trail cam or anywhere I'd trust putting such a thing up to get pictures of the local wildlife. Regardless, you live in a very different part of the country, so it's a lot of fun seeing the wildlife you have other there. I say go for it!
No idea on names though. I think my own little nature walk froze my brain. I can't wait for late Spring!
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead with it. A good non-school project would be good for me right now. I have so much stuff on my mind, and the best way to remedy that is just spitting it out!
As far as being worried about one getting stolen, it's a totally valid complaint (obviously), but if you do invest in a trail cam of your own, there are lots of security items you can get for them. Lockboxes, python cables, GPS trackers, camouflage, etc.
If I were you, though, and really wanted to do camera trapping, I'd ask someone who owns a plot of forested land or countryside and see if you could use their property. That's what I'm doing at the moment, and the people who own the land think it's fascinating. I've got permission to go out there whenever I want, and best of all, no thieves!
Yes, blogger looks easy and straightforward. I don't need anything too fancy, so I think that's the way to go. And I didn't know you had a cooking blog! Link?
