This just seems stupid. She has company meetings plus Christmas party next Friday. She is flying there on Thursday and Christmas party is on Friday. She wants me to fly in on Friday, enjoy the party and fly out the same evening, or maybe spending night in a hotel and coming back next morning ( Read more... )

Why make simple things complex?
Is it really a big deal to go to the party?
She is proud of you and she wants to show it to everybody. Isn't it a reason for a 2 flights a day?

she doesn't want to show me off, cuz everybody already saw me thousand times and why would you wanna brag with your overweight, lazy and ugly husband?
And it's not a reason enough for me to have 2 flights a day. I really-really-really don't like flying. I'd rather drive 400 miles.

well, my guess may be not very accurate, but still a lot of women (including me) are very often like that, no matter how many times you were showed off ;-))

Hmm, didn't think about it, but still don't like to be shown off. I'm a fairly shy person.

Your presence there might mean something more to her. Maybe she's worried that you not wanting to come means something, like that she's not important to you. Did she state why it is she wants you there so badly?

She just wants me to do something nice for her and she wants to spend time with me. I know I'm probably a jerk. :(

of course there are benefits, too. often the best we can hope for is that the good things outweigh the bad.

someone below suggested that her demands are rooted in insecurity. she's probably right. i used to play that game, too. in the end, i resented my husband for always giving in to my bullshit. be careful.

she wants me to want to go

Isn't that the most annoying thing ever? Understandable, yeah, but annoying all the same. =/

Hmm... but maybe she doesn't want to spend time with her old & boring colleagues, either, and that's why she's so insistent?

she wants two people to be miserable... :(

;D It's more fun being miserable if you can share it with someone you love.

Ah, but I think I can't really tell you what she's thinking. Judging from all your entries about her, she sounds like a really feminine woman in thinking, which I must admit I've never been. I... can't remember dragging any of my boyfriends to such events. Quite the opposite; I'm always the one getting dragged and being bitchy about it. ;D
