I've had it happen both ways. I've had the disappointment in the shower, too. So I've learned to expect it sometimes, and at least not to blame it on the sex.
There must be something physiological about it. An orgasm is the peak of a complex interaction of chemicals, thought and stimulai. It's like trying to build a standing wave, maybe. You gotta push at just the right time, every moment, to make it go higher. Then, if just one little out-of-sync wave from any one of the sources works it's way in at just the wrong moment, it flatlines.
I'm not sure that scientists even understand it fully.
I've always felt like I was gambling just a little bit, myself.

I have to say I never really gave recognition to the difference of intensity before. I've known sometimes they are incredible, and sometimes just ok. I've always just been thankful for any, whether with a partner or alone.
I'm thinking for me it's weird how one day all it takes is for H to look at me the right way and BAM! Several orgasms with great intensity. And sometimes it takes forever for one. I suppose that's just psychological.
These days since my mom is recouperating at my house I'm grateful just for a sensual thought or two....
I know what you are talking about, my husband is the first guy to ever give me an orgasm and somedays that are OMG and other it is the biggest disappointment. I get myself so excited to have that OMG orgasm that when it doesn't come and I have a weak one I get very upset after sex. I wonder if this is a problem all of us have, men and women. I should feel lucky to have one at all because, I know lots of women my age or older who have never had one.
Ya, it's funny how they are not the same every time...and there is no way to foresee or gauge how intense or mild it's going to be. Is just is what it is at the time and there ain't nothing you can do about it. And there's no taking it back or saying "Hey!! No fair!! I want a better one dammit!!"
And I can totally relate to the sudden cessation mid climax thing, which of course sucks...and not in a good way. lol
Hmmmm, now I'm thinking...have I ever had two orgasms that were exactly the same, be it good or bad?? I've had two back-to-back, but even they were not the same. Guess I've never paid enough attention at the time to notice. lol
But I DO know that when you hit the G spot, it's different. Waaaaaaaaaaaay different. Like, "OMG OMG!! Don't stop, don't stop!!" different!!!
hmmmmm. Smokee911 has a point... orgasms are like snowflakes... no two are ever the same lol. Also, idk about anyone else, but at the moment of climax, I see colors... usualluy bright ones... and they usually are turqoise, red, yellow or uhh... I think purple. I wonder what determines the color I see... and also whether I am retarded and I am the only one who sees a distinct color.
I've seen colours too. It's possibly related to synaesthesia. (There are quizzes and stuff there too)
Or it could be to do with auras and things. It's an interesting direction to explore.
I tend to see colours more during drug-related incidents than sexual ones, which is probably due to my lack of sexual experience (Not hallucinagenic drugs btw, which is why it's weird)
