Being at Delphi for 7 years has showed me just how much dependency this are has on them. How many corporate HQ's are in Detroit, which AREN'T automotive suppliers, or do a majority of their business with an Auto supplier? I can't think of many.. :(
I work in the health care sector now, and we're getting hit too.. less employees with insurance, less visits to the doctor, etc.

Everyone's getting hit pretty hard. Michigan just has nothing going for it besides the auto industry. As much as I would hate to see this area turn into the third-world-country within the US, I'd really like to see corporate Darwinism work, too.
Love the picture, but the oh-so-true logic behind it is sad. SAD SAD SAD SAD.
I got tons of friends that think American is great. I hear a lot of whining about jobs going overseas and foreign cars stealing American jobs. I think American auto companies had how long? 30 years to fix their shit and still no go.
