I read about one company that made their interviews a bit more interesting. They reasoned that since they only wanted highly motivated people they should make getting to the interview at all somewhat challenging. So they set it up on an isolated mountain top a couple of days hike from anywhere ^^
I don't know if that got them any better employees (don't even remember what kind of company it was), but I for one would love to have that kind of excuse to go hiking.

hahaha that's ... certainly more interesting. I guess this way they are more likely to find people who really really want the job hehe or who really really like hiking.

Job hunting is an interesting process. The current system of interview seems fundamentally flawed to some extent because they always look for interesting stories that candidates talk about, and use that as a basis for judging whether they are indeed suited for jobs. The truth is, there are many good graduates who don't have interesting stories to tell.

I saw what I think was an Asian restaurant in Berlin called "Rice Queen." I nearly fell over laughing.

What is "Bye Mitsie" supposed to mean?

Mitsie Macintosh, is the most successful drag queen in Sydney (of 20 years), she's an institution all by herself. Her main arena has always been a pub called the Imperial Hotel, but she just had her last performance there this week. She's not retiring though, rumours are that she's moving on to a nightclub called Arq (think Queer as Folk and those hideous places they go to get drug-fucked and fucked).

She is incredibly talented at lip-synching, costume-making and choreography, with the most unlikely and expressive face. I've seen her spoofs (with other drag queens who are all different from the usual drab you see at gay bars) of The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music and Play School. They're just the funniest thing ever. But it's all history now...

if interviewers had any sense, they'd drop all pretense of somehow feeling you out, gauging your aptitude, or whatever, and just take you to what would become your cube. They'd leave you there for ten minutes, then take you back into their office. Then they'd say "Are you sure you want to work here? Did you hear donkey-laugh? How about the jerk who microwaves an entire, rotten fish for 4 minutes every day? Does that piss you off?" If you could give a convincing, 'I'm not bottling it all up until one day I explode and punch the lead programmer in the face and disappear forever to Regina'-type answer, you'd be hired.
