It's been over 24 hours since the quake. Emergency crews from, amongst others, Japan, Australia, the UK and the USA have arrived to join the Kiwi teams working 24hrs a day through the devastation that was Christchurch's CBD (Central Business District). Massive quake at lunchtime; many dead and the city in ruins. There's not much to say really other than that my heart goes out to those effected. At work we received word that our colleagues are safe, but no word yet on the students.
This is bad bad bad.
Up here in Auckland we're fine. -
Food...
The other night, for the first time in goodness knows how long I cooked bagna cauda (or however you spell it). It's been over ten years at the very least and I had truly forgotten how good it is, although it IS the kind of food that would make a dietician scream and harden you arteries by proximity alone. 5/5 and well worth it.
Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush put in the most amazing performances in this one. I'll get round to writing a full review later, but this is one very good film. Go see it. -
