Recently we have been trying to get Ivy to rub Mama's Tummy and say Baby. We have planned on using this to get Ivy to announce the impending arrival of a sibling. we did something similar. we told v1 that there was a baby in mommy's belly for a while. then while taking to our parents we asked her what was in mommy's belly and she told her grandparents "a baby." we did however get the normal due date sort of questions afterward.

perhaps your stepmom should start addressing her questions to the two more highly verbal people rather than to the toddler. she'd probably get more information that way. i think i would have asked you guys for more details rather than leave it at the non answer of ivy.

Yeah I think the extra level of trickery is what got them confused. I signaled Ivy to do "MaMa Baby" without them noticing anything. Still they didn't really expect Ivy to answer those questions did they? It was slightly awkward at the time but now I find it pretty darn funny. One extra tidbit I forgot to mention is we stopped for lunch on the way to my Dad's house because chris's nose is in full on pregnancy mode so her tastes are very limited. So I walked in with a bag of food which is admittedly a little strange. I explained that chris had a craving. My father states "She's not pregnant is she?" I replied "Whoa, I don't know if I could manage 2 kids running around". I didn't tell a lie but I didn't answer his question either. So I really surprised they didn't figure anything out.

As for details the only thing we know at this point is Mid-July. We should know more at the end of the month.
