Lately it seems that Ivy is turning into a Daddy's girl. Whenever we are outside of the house it is me she wants and not Chris. It's pretty cute although my left arm is getting pretty tired as she goes "Up Plesss, Up Plesss" whenever she gets tired/scared/bored/etc. More on this later ( Read more... )

Chris keeps a can of mixed nuts on her nightstand that Ivy recently found. So we figured it was about time to test Ivy for the dreaded peanut allergy. On a bulletin board in Ivy's classroom they have a mugshot of each kid with a food allergy. Right next to this is a stack of epi pens. So Ivy's latest trick is starting to use some 2 word phrases. Her current favorite is "No Way" What makes this particular expression funny is the deliberate method used to say it. There is usually a 3 second pause between the "No" and the "Way" as if she is deciding that in this particular instance the added emphasis of the "way" is called for ( Read more... )

I'm amazed at the the decicion making power of a mostly empty brain. Last week I brought you the 'hair gel' incident where Ivy knew where her head was so we said forehead and saw the root word head and acted. So late saturday night (7:30pm) Ivy is still up and starting to get tired. I'm sitting crosslegged on the floor with Ivy in my lap. For some reason Ivy is grabbing the collar of my t-shirt and playing with it. Ivy then decides to go see mom. She gets up and starts running at full speed over to mom. So Ivy is unfortunately blessed with the same dry skin I have so every morning and night we end up coating her in lotion. Sometimes she fights it but more recently she has been helping us. She really likes lotioning her hands and will continually ask for more lotion even when her hands are completely white and dripping with lotion. So Chris has ( Read more... )

Well this weekend we took Ivy to the Stone Zoo in Stoneham MA. I fondly remember going to this Zoo with my Dad as a kid. Back then it was a real zoo with Elephants Zebras, Giraffes, a Polar Bear, a Sea Lion show.
