A question to you all: How do you put up with this god forsaken heat and distance?

[Well that seems to be a short and sweet text-post as opposed to the normal video/audio posts you all tend to get Johto. I wonder why...?]

Compared to basic training, this is a walk in the park.

I am not exactly a militaristic person.

I put summer clothes on and ride with a pokemon. Ponyta doesn't really help much with the heat but at least it's fast on the routes. [Arcanine could be an even worse option!]

Ponyta?

[ITT: Lelouch doesn't know about the existence of ponies on fire.]

You get used to it.

Well, that's a pleasant thing to hear.

It takes a while, though. Don't push yourself further than you know you can handle.

Bringing along a lot of water would probably help too.

[Sadly, Cecil's ability to answer with text is nonexistent.]

Having a Water- or Ice-type helps dealing with the heat. As for the distances, your best bet would be to obtain a Flying-type, borrow the Fly HM and earn the Zephyr badge.

...You have to teach a bird to Fly?

[video] puppet_paladin September 5 2011, 00:38:47 UTC
Not to fly in itself, but to do so with a human rider. Just like you need the Surf HM if you wish to cross a body of water by riding a Pokémon.
