So, things are progressing well in general with the Search For A Cat for Mom.  It won't be a Kitten though.  (thank gods - i think she would have tolerated a kitten for a week and gone mad).  I've been dealing with the people from PAWS Toronto = Peoples Animal Welfare Society.  Very very nice people.   (site is under construction but should be up ( Read more... )

I have no suggestions, but admiration. The snowscape is my favorite, too. Very nice.

oh! thank you for the comment.. I will pass it along. Mom's funny.. she has very very poor self-esteem about her work. Especially now that she is getting older I think she feels she's lost her touch with some things. I'm sure she will be very thrilled.
thank you :D

Very nice! I don't have any ideas, but I'd buy some... they'd be great gifts.

oh! well.. if you are intersted that would be very keen! Very Very. I wasn't expecting really. The first one is i think based on some scene she once described of the mustard in bloom (or it could have been rapeseed) on the rolling hills of england. I can find out more detail about the others if you like.

I'll be at her house this weekend and get you the measurements.

Personally, I think they would make nice gifts. Not sure if they are too expensive for ebay - but most of the stuff there is not very good. It is terribly difficult for artists to get their work out there. Especially since mom is a senior.

These are lovely. (I wish I knew how to be a professional artist!!! It's all I ever wanted but I just don't know how!!!) Anyways... There's of course ebay, there is craigslist (not sure how active that is in your area), and there is etsy. That's all I can think of at the moment though. Good luck to your mom!

I will try to post some up on craigslist today. I guess you never know! :D
You are an artist! I know what you mean about professional artist though - trust me - having seen the struggle my sister had gone through - years spent making under $20k - sometimes well under... it really isn't easy. Most "professionals" unless they are huge names - struggle so much.

I had never heard of etsy... this is GREAT!
thank you ever so much for the link.

I'm going to try and avoid ebay for a while. I think it just doesn't really focus on quality art. etsy is amazing. do you sell your work there?

oooh! I'd not thought of STLM. great idea.
she'll need to get a number more to sell at a fair - as you said - get the inventory. I think they look better in Real Life - especially the winter one. The colours of course vary from screen to screen but they are fairly close to accurate.

I know what you mean though: there is something about buying art that makes it a bit more interesting if you can actually hold it. Or see the brush strokes. I am thinking about discussing with the Cafe where we meet. See if they might be willing to take some when she has a few more selections.
