well, looks like i'm going to be doing something new at work.  Something different.   I'm going to be moving out of the Tech Support job and more into a Service Manager position.  Not sure quite what that means but it's a change.    This does mean though the stress levels might start to come down.  Sure I'll have a new job - but I won't have to ( Read more... )

Good luck with the new posting. Hopefully you won't be dealing entirely with the Public which can shall we say be taxing. :/

The Cat is good. since we got rid of our personal web servers - it meant all the images I had broke on The Cat's blog. Breaks my heart. When I get some time i'll find a new host, and start it up again.

yeah, mostly I'll be dealing with high end customers. /more taxing i suspect.

Your jewelry is gorgeous and should win much acclaim. Also, service manager! That's a new one on me (not that everything hasn't changed drastically since I left. man, it was a crazy long time ago!). Are you still in whatever they're calling the NOC these days or is it more of a sales support deal? Is sales support even still a thing? Am I speaking in an archaic language?

the terms are pretty much the same. I won't deal with the NOC or CTAC much. Its a new role - basically a bit of sales support for HUGE customers, bit of billing support and working with the KASS people - who are now called.. TSMs: Tech. Service Managers.

Congrats on the lateral move - away from all that high-stress tech support. I hope this change is, as the saying goes, as good as a rest.
