entries++

Aug 26, 2009 17:35

I have been writing a lot of entries lately. This is largely in contrast with this past summer, in which I only wrote ten entries throughout the entire three-month period. I guess there's just a lot more stuff going on now that I'm back at college.

Anyway, I'll split this up into parts.

The fucking latch:In addendum to the previous entry, ( Read more... )

I took the pen-based computing class. I would post a link to our final project (a mapping tool for things like D&D) except it seems they finally got around to wiping our andrew webspaces.

It's a good class though. I think you are allowed to work on your own, but it's highly recommended that you don't. No one did when I took it.

Aww, they wipe old Andrew webspaces? Do they at least let you keep your e-mail ( ... )

They delete your andrew account about a semester after you graduate, and apparently they also wipe your space, since even contrib can't access my page anymore.

I took it with Guna.
It was very, very, very little work. (I took it entirely because it would be little work, because I was also doing OS + 20 hours of work/week + job search that semester.)
There were three homeworks, I think. They were interesting enough... just basically learning how to use the different libraries and stuff (how the pen state and pressure is detected, what gestures are, how to recognize handwriting, etc).
The rest of the class is just the project.
The homeworks aren't annoying, but aren't particularly fun... the project is what you make of it.

I assume, if they let you work by yourself, you will be expected to deliver something smaller than if you were working in a group. And most of the group projects we saw were already pretty small. :P

Aha it still exists

I should say, apparently they wipe your space a little while (a year?) after they deactivate your account, since contrib can't access my page anymore.

I don't see the contradiction. It says you SHOULD work in a team, but doesn't say anywhere (from what you posted) that you HAVE to work in a team.

The minimum of three could refer to the possibility that IF you decide to work in a team, the team must consist of at least 3 people, but you don't HAVE to work in a team.

Regarding the second part: If that were true, then you would be allowed to work either individually or in groups of three or more, but not with just two people. That wouldn't make any sense.

But yeah, I did ask for clarification, and the second screenshot I posted was just a recommendation (since that's the way it's always been done and is known to work).

However, when the slide was presented, it was referenced as if it were a requirement, so that was the reason for my confusion.
