On August 2nd, I bought a car.
I didn’t really set out to buy a car, but I wasn’t entirely opposed to it. I had, after all, been looking at used car listings online for months, and daydreaming about getting something new to me, something different from what I had been driving for the past 5 years.

I mean there are some older cars that I adore - 1967 Impala, 1969 Mustang, 1956 Bel Air - and I get the whole desire for a manual transmission, but I can understand the feeling of "meh" some people have about what they might be driving too.
I feel "meh" about what I drive now - it's 2009 Xterra. Not at all something I would've bought for myself, but when someone gives you a free car, you don't necessarily say no, especially when you're beloved stick shift goes into bleed out mode of impossible repairs.
