Well and then there's the fact that you can't really do anything during a blackout at night. Reading is hard if you don't have like three flashlights pointing at the pages, so basically all you can do is talk >_o

I personally like the Internet, without it, how would we communicate like this? Cell phones just don't cut it for the type of communities such as on LJ, Myspace, Facebook, Xanga, etc etc. It's more about connection than usefulness really.

I guess what I mean to say is that people should be sleeping at night, eh?

I won't deny at all how useful the internet is at connecting people. But about ten years ago, not many people used it, and no one really minded. It used to be possible to live without it, and frankly I don't like how things run nowadays so that it's pretty much unavoidable for this society.

If anything , the blackout might have been the reason why everybody went to bed before 2 am last night.

As it turned out, we had a lot of flashlights in the house, but keeping them for a long time is quite a battery killer. And also, the light bulbs might burn out. -_- It's cool to have one of those crank flashlights. Even though they're a lot of work, at least you can be sure of having power.

Funny how people discover there's not much to do without light, and go to sleep like they probably should be doing already.

people get restricted by objects around them...
well, as long as i have something else more interesting to do i won't be at the computers. but then the motivation of starting something else more interesting is just hard to collect when you have absolute nothing to do. and computers are just "easy" way to kill time. how pathetic.

I have to agree (about the "easy" way to kill time).

But there probably are objects that don't restrict people, just that I'm not willing to think too much about that right now. =P
