In my wisdom class we are reading the Stoic philosopher Epictetus, and he says some things are up to us and some things are not up to us. What's up to us is our opinions and reactions and judgments and actions. What's not up to us is everything else. The best we can do is understand and change our attitudes about things, because when you push on a mountain of bullshit it is likely to fall on your head.

For today, nothing but apologies. For the meeting that will inevitably ensue, the rest.

E-mail me first. We need to talk about the winter holidays, and where everyone will be and when.
