Why would I care about someone else's musical taste? O_o

You can learn a lot about someone by the kind of music they listen to. For instance, I tend to listen to industrial, gothic, and electronica almost exclusively, but I was raised on classic rock, hard rock, and new wave. I also enjoy new age, ambient, and classical, and can at least appreciate some rap, jazz, funk, and blues. I'm not a big fan of top 40 (although I can tolerate some of it), and I don't like country (makes me cringe just thinking of it). Plus I'm always looking for people who are at least familiar with the same bands I listen to, and if I find someone with similar musical tastes, then I could find something new I'll like.

Unless you're being facetious, in which case you can feel free to ignore everything I've said :)

I was *mostly* joking.

You do make a good point that you may be exposed to new music that you will enjoy by running it through the 'friend filter'. That's how I find anime.

It seems our musical tastes are quite similar. Have you heard any Roisin Murphy?
