Uwai~!
[The delighted squeel is all that is heard at first, before the video switches over. There's excitement shinning in Yuuki's face, a sincere, if fanged grin as she stares, delighted, into the screen. She's nothing, if not enthusiastic, similar to a kid in a candy store. And nevermind that bit of pink food still stuck next to her mouth. Ice

I'm back!

Hey.
[...and glances to the puppy.] . . .

She grins as she walks in, setting down her bags a bit tiredly.]
Hope you don't mind. I brought company.

He begins emptying the bags, setting the dog food aside to prepare a bowl.]
You bought more than I was thinking you would.
[Said in observation, more than anything. Glances to her, easily noting how tired she is. It might not have been a good idea to do so much when she's still healing.]

[She takes out the collar she purchased, before bending down.]
Come here, Sprinkles! Lets get this on you.
[He runs in a couple circles before happily bounding her way. She starts adjusting the collar while continuing to talk with Zero.]
Since you've been watching over me so much of late I've devoured your food, too. It's only right I replace some.

You have. [lightly teases, a hand to her as he passes by to set the chocolate aside.]
You still should take it easy, though, and not carry so much weight. I don't mind shopping.
[He does so fairly regularly, anyway.
Passing her again, he opens the bag of dog food and scoops some into the bowl. Sprinkles immediately yips in delight, excitedly waiting for Yuuki to finish before approaching as bends down on a knee to set the bowl down.
Almost tentatively, he holds a hand out to the tiny dog, a little curious over how it may react to him. ]

[A grin, resting her elbows on her bent knees a moment, watching Sprinkles and Zero with a smile.]
Since coming here, your aura's changed a lot, Zero.
[The tiny dog tentatively licks his fingers, before lifting back on his hind legs, attempting to jump up and lick his face, too.]

[Yuuki's remark doesn't go unnoticed, but he remains silent for the next few moments. It's that obvious?]
You should know why.
[A quiet reply; contemplative, in some ways. The sudden and nearly complete lack of bloodlust and even crippling thirst, after living with the cravings for a number of years, is not unlike a heavy weight lifted from his shoulders. While, of course, that doesn't mean he's without the usual desire or taste for Yuuki's blood (the complete opposite, in fact), as well, it still is a rather blissful state.
Not that this is the only reason. -I almost lost you. . .]

She can't help but to watch him silently a few moments, contemplative, grateful, even, for all he's given her. Closing her eyes she rests her forehead against his chest, arms wrapping around his frame in a lingering embrace.]
I'm so fortunate... [A soft, gentle kiss, before burrowing against him.] Why do you stay with me?
Reply
There is no one way to reply, even when they all boil down to a single thought. Yet still, no collective phrase to utter, no gesture to inflict, that can hold every last ounce of what she means.
His arms encircle her without a thought. Eyes closing as his lips meet the soft touch of her hair, a kiss to the crown of her head.]
Because there's no other place I'd rather be.

Her eyes grow tired easily, sleep tugging her further into drowsiness. Her body's exhausted after a day out on her own, after everything she experienced. She's worried that if she expresses her fatigue he'll worry more than he already has for the past week.]
Mm...
[A low, simple murmur of contentment, leaning a little too heavy against him.]
I'm going to stay the night here, okay?

There's a few yips from the tiny black dog as Zero heads towards his bedroom. The puppy is quite content to follow. ]
Yeah. It's fine.
[Quiet in reply. He cleaned the apartment recently; although the smell of Yuuki's blood still faintly lingers from the other night, the memory thick and tangible.
He gently lies Yuuki down on the bed and removes her shoes for her, before sitting down beside her. Sprinkles yips again, drawing a sigh and a light chuckle from him. It's not play time, now, stupid.
Glances down upon her again.]
. . .Want him up with you?
Reply
Mm, I'd like that.
[A smile tugs her lips, eyes drifting shut as she snuggles comfortably into the downy mattress. As long as he doesn't mind Sprinkles in the bed with them, she'd like him up there for the time being. There's no reason to leave him out, not right now.]
You know. They told me that... animals really hated vampires. That I shouldn't be alarmed if creatures that once showed no hesitation easily became spooked upon meeting me.
[Her voice is a soft murmur, before a smile once more softens her expression, eyes creasing with happiness.]That's why...when he started following me, I was so surprised. I didn't expect it. And it just...made me really happy. I thought-- 'You stupid ( ... )

Maybe that's why he offered to bring the dog up to the bed. . .
Not that he minds so much, seeing how small it is. In the bed, however. . . well, that's another thing.
He leans down to scoop Sprinkles, then sets him down next to Yuuki.]
It's probably Zodion. It's weird here.
[A somewhat thoughtful remark, although not meant to shoot down Yuuki's happiness. He smirks a little as he watches the tiny puppy for a moment as it pads over to her with another yip or two, pressing its wet nose to her arm.]
A short while ago, on the network, there was a guy who didn't know how to take care of the horse he had borrowed, so I went to give him a hand. The horse didn't have much of an ill reaction towards me, either, so. . .
[A small shrug. It's nice to acknowledge. Pleasing, really.]

With a small, tired sigh, she idly strokes the animal's fur.]
I guess that's one small blessing we have here, then. If not for what happened the other week, this place was becoming...comfortable.

[Teasing, teasing. After a few moments longer he decides to lie down on his side, settling in next to her. .
("Comfortable," she says. . .) His opinion belies what sentiments he's developed over these past three, almost four months. Always so contradicting, both push and pull at the same time. There came a point in time where the line between the proper desire to go home, and an undeniable, even greedy idea that life in Zodion was something he could indulge in (so long as it's with Yuuki), blurred past the point of no return. That maybe, if he can find it within himself to feel he even deserves such a thing, a normal kind of life could exist, here. . . .No matter how absurd this world happens to actually be ( ... )
