Tube strikes are enlightening.

They got me off the tube and onto my bicycle. Using the mighty Colliers Wood to City Cycle Superhighway is a joy (thank you Boris) and I feel remarkably safe. The fact that hundreds of other cyclists are using them is also fabulous. Cycling from Tooting Broadway to Clapham Common is also officially faster than taking ( Read more... )

Hah! The tube strikes are to get more money, and they lost a customer! Also, you'll end up super fit and healthy doing that, which makes me jealous because even if I got a job where cycling was an option I would be unable to do it because I'm so useless with keeping a bike going in a straight line and cycling uphill that I'd end up getting run over :-s. But seriously, in a couple of months your butt in particular will be all kinds of awesome :-p. You should probably up your calorie intake very slightly (maybe by a banana a day or something) though to take that exercise into account, because you have no need to lose any weight (miss tiny, tiny person).

Don't be silly Natalie, my journey burns 129 calories according the internet, which is barely a biscuit and a half (or indeed a banana). I already eat too much, it will barely make a difference.
