So as I said in my last entry, I kinda decided the way to get around things coming out wonky was to take the "I meant to do that" approach.. crappy cameraphone pic really doesn't do it justice, it actually looks pretty cool. I had originally wanted to do it bed size, but I went with more of a lap size instead.

So my quilt has continued to get wonkier and wonkier as I work on it. At least I figured out WHY.... The directions I had said to trace the template on the cloth for each square, and I listened.. well the marking pencil kept stretching the fabric, making the squares uneven and not quite square. I'm wearing Ravyn's sweater! I put the last stitches on it today and finished all the ends. ^_^ It still needs blocked tho. If it were for me I'd want it a teensy bit bigger in the bust and waist - it fits me and I can button it fine but it's snug enough that it would look better looser on me. But that's fine because she's a couple sizes smaller. ( Read more... )

Any time my husband asks me for stuff I want for christmas I can never think of anything, so when I'm thinking of stuff I'm gonna put it here in my blog. Could be useful to my sister or friends too, who knows. Other than the sewing machine, things are in about the $15-$30 range.
