It seems to be that the discussion of "right" is by its nature a discussion of the individual in society. It would be meaningless for a person on a deserted island to complain that his rights were being ignored - ignored by whom? At the same time, it seems that the term "rights" refers specifically to the individual. They are the minimum boundaries between humans. I want to stress the word minimum. Too often we think that someone who isn't a bad person is a good person, but really there is a huge middle ground. Or to put it another way, to "do no harm" is not the same thing as to help. I tend to think that rights fall into the "do no harm" category rather than the help category
