Went to see John Vanderslice at the Casbah with Heather tonight and had a really good time. Ran into my friend Clint who had an interesting tale to tell. JV always needs to rock out just a little more, but he's still the nicest guy in rock music today. Photographic evidence of the evening's debauchery here.

I'm in a crappy, negative mood that I just can't snap out of today. Can't think of a good reason why - maybe it's just the consistently cloudy weather? I do find it a lot harder to get started when there's no sun in the morning (or the rest of the day for that matter). What good is it living in a cool neighborhood if all the places that made it cool in first place are getting priced out? South Park, the neighborhood where we live, is one of the "up and coming" neighborhoods in San Diego, with a lot of cool new stores and restaurants, and houses getting renovated and going for way, way too much money. I feel like my head's been in a weird place the past couple months and I just wanted get out of the city for the day and just drive somewhere, to try and shake off the fog and clear my head. Yesterday was the first day of "baby season" hours at the PW Care Center, and I got to usher them in since I'm doing Monday night shifts this summer instead of Sundays.
