I'm reading a flood study right now where the consultant refers to all DOS systems as "mainframes" and all Windows ones as "PCs".  Even with my sparce knowledge of computers, several paragraphs are irritatingly wrong--and rather nonsensical--when taken literally.  I guess I have low tolerance for things like this when I can guess fairly well what ( Read more... )

Today I will have to work a little late, as we took extra-long lunch breaks playing some Jedi duel game on the Wii.  There are days I love my job :)

It was just revealed to me that the brewmaster of the local pub below my office love's Miller High Life.  He said it was his favorite beer.  I find this hilarious :)

We were talking about the Fox show "24" in the office today.  I am not convinced that this season's plotline is (a) different or (b) more plausible than the plot of Metal Wolf Chaos.  While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, in theory, until Jack Bauer dons a full suit of powerarmor, it probably isn't going to keep me watching the show...

We reached the end of January, so the pseudo-NaNoWriMo-in -January that my brother and I were doing is now over.   For the second time in three months I actually finished a 50,000 word in a month challenge (50,297 as of 11:59pm on January 31st), so I'm rather proud of myself.  A few observations:
