To argue devil's advocate here...some people are just so drained from real life they don't have the energy to post all the time. To be fair, some people fall in and out with LJ- they stop caring about it and let it fall into disrepair.
And wow...Kenya. Just, wow. I should probably read your blog, when I have time. It looks interesting.
I know, and my high school friends haven't posted regularly in LJ since high school. I was mostly being facetious. (Though it is sort of depressing to go through everyone's LJ and realize that I have no idea what's going on in their lives right now, because they haven't posted anything and I haven't been in touch with them in any other way... but I also haven't sent out mass emails or anything, really, so I fail at communication as well.)
I've actually been living in Tanzania, which is much less developed than Kenya- I'm working for an NGO (as a volunteer) and working on choosing and starting a development project geared to the strengths and weaknesses of the village where I live, Kijungmoto. I'm working with two other girls (in the same village) as well as one of my best friends from college, who's posted in another village.
Recently my life has consisted of freaking the fuck out and cooing over dogs. Like, pretty much exclusively. Then again, I'm like the least guilty of this.
Also we should all move over to tumblr anyway. Just sayin
Glad to hear you're alive! The blog is very exciting to read and I'm glad you're updating it.
Real life has been very busy (and exciting), which means that I don't have a lot of time and energy to sit down and type for thirty minutes every few days.
You missed an earthquake and hurricane in August, and torrential rains and flooding for all of the month of September. Alexandra had to move back to California in mid-October and we were very sorry to lose her. We have a new housemate moving in next week and Will and I were extras in a PBS documentary on the War of 1812 two weekends ago. That about sums it up!
